BedrockPlacing configuration
The file
After the first launch with the mod installed, you will find config/bedrockplacing.json next to your other configs (in .minecraft/config for the default launcher, or the server's config folder). It looks like this:
{
"enabled": true,
"sneakDisables": true,
"requireSupport": true,
"reach": 4.5,
"preview": true,
"repeatTicks": 2
}
Settings
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
enabled |
true |
Master switch. Set it to false and right-clicking the air behaves like vanilla again. |
sneakDisables |
true |
Hold sneak to skip the assist and right-click the air normally (handy for items that do something on air-click). |
requireSupport |
true |
The block under you must have a sturdy side face in the direction you face. Turn it off to also extend from slabs, fences, and other partial blocks. |
reach |
4.5 |
Maximum distance in blocks from your eyes to the target cell, from 2 to 6. |
preview |
true |
Show the white outline on the cell the next click would fill. Client side. |
repeatTicks |
2 |
Client ticks between placements while you hold right-click, from 1 to 4. Vanilla uses 4; lower is faster. |
Changing settings
You have four options, pick whichever is closest:
- Edit the file with the game (or server) closed, then start it. Simple and foolproof.
- Edit the file and reload live with
/mycel reload bedrockplacingin game. No restart needed. See commands. - Change it live with a command, e.g.
/mycel set bedrockplacing repeatTicks 1(needs operator permission;/mycel get bedrockplacingshows every value). No file editing needed. - Use the config screen from the mod list (Forge and NeoForge). Same six settings, with reset buttons.
Broken file?
If the JSON gets mangled (bad edit, crash mid-save), the mod logs a warning and falls back to defaults rather than crashing. Delete the file and restart to get a fresh one.
