Anvil Cost Calculator configuration
The file
After the first launch with the mod installed, you will find config/anvilcostcalculator.json next to your other configs (in .minecraft/config for the default launcher). It looks like this:
{
"enabled": true,
"showButton": true,
"showTooltip": true,
"showXpPoints": true,
"debug": false
}
Settings
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
enabled |
true |
Master switch. Set it to false and the button and tooltip line disappear until you flip it back. |
showButton |
true |
Show the XP planner button on anvil screens. The button is added when the anvil opens, so a change shows up the next time you open one. |
showTooltip |
true |
Add the Anvil uses ยท Prior work line to tooltips of items that have been through an anvil. |
showXpPoints |
true |
Under the plan's total, also show roughly how many XP points it costs from your current level. |
debug |
false |
Write the planner's clicks and every calculated plan to the game log (lines tagged [debug]). Handy when reporting a problem; leave it off otherwise. |
Changing settings
You have four options, pick whichever is closest:
- Edit the file with the game closed, then start the game. Simple and foolproof.
- Edit the file and reload live with
/mycel reload anvilcostcalculatorin game. No restart needed. See commands. - Change it live with a command, e.g.
/mycel set anvilcostcalculator showXpPoints false(needs operator permission;/mycel get anvilcostcalculatorshows every value). No file editing needed. - Use the config screen from the mod list (Forge and NeoForge). Same five settings, with reset buttons.
Broken file?
If the JSON gets mangled (bad edit, crash mid-save), the mod logs a warning and falls back to defaults rather than crashing. Delete the file and restart to get a fresh one.
